The Look Good Feel Better Volunteer Recognition and Award Program salutes the following milestones and exceptional services.

Volunteer Training and Certification Recognition

New volunteers attend a four-hour, in-person certification class before beginning their Look Good Feel Better volunteer work. Existing volunteers participate in an online update webinar every two years for continuing education and to learn about updates in the Look Good Feel Better program.

Volunteers who complete a certification class receive a Certificate of Recognition and a new volunteer packet. Volunteers who successfully complete their biannual update webinar and quiz receive a digital Update Certificate to save and print at the end of the quiz.

For information on scheduled training classes, please contact your local American Cancer Society office.

Recognition and Awards Program

Every year, Look Good Feel Better honors volunteers who consistently give their time to support the program. Active volunteers who participate in four group programs per year receive electronic Volunteer Years of Service badges annually.

In addition, long-serving volunteers are honored at critical service milestones with Look Good Feel Better recognition gifts:

  • Five years: Look Good Feel Better Pocket Mirror
  • Ten years: Look Good Feel Better Business Card Holder
  • 15 years: Look Good Feel Better Desk Clock
  • 20 years: Look Good Feel Better Pen & Pencil Set
  • 25 years: Look Good Feel Better Messenger Bag

Sunrise Awards

The prestigious State Sunrise Awards are given to exceptional volunteers in three categories: PBA member/LGFB certified beauty professional volunteers, LGFB certified beauty professional volunteers, and general volunteers.  Individuals are nominated by peers and selected by committee.

Each year, Look Good Feel Better also gives three national awards to outstanding volunteers who have provided extraordinary service to the Look Good Feel Better program. Individuals are nominated by peers and selected by committee. The first National Sunrise Awards were presented in 1994, marking the 15th anniversary of the program, and since that time, 48 volunteers have received this honor.
