Today marks the last Monday in September, and while some may be thinking “where did the time go?” we at Look Good Feel Better are very eager for October to begin. Why you may ask? Well, starting in October LGFB will be embarking on some very exciting partnerships. Below you will find a list of the companies LGFB is partnering with, starting in October, to raise awareness and funds for the program:
Along with these partnerships LGFB is pleased to announce Sebastian Professional has made a $20,000 contribution, and is encouraging their salons to refer women to the program.
For more information about our partnerships unfolding in October please visit our Corporate Sponsors page on our website.
The year 2009 was a special year for Look Good Feel better which included the 20th anniversary of the program. It was made a bit more special last week when the LGFB 20th anniversary public awareness campaign was honored with a Certificate of Excellence at the Public Relations Society of America’s 2010 Thoth Awards Gala in Washington, D.C. So thanks you to everyone who continues to make our program amazing!
We hope everyone has a great week. Keep checking back for the most updated information about LGFB.
As Executive Director of the Personal Care Products Council Foundation and responsible for the Look Good…Feel Better program, I would like to welcome you to our new blog page. Here you will find weekly updates on the program, as well as any other exciting information that Look Good…Feel Better has to share. There will also be profiles on some of our extraordinary volunteers, along with a new section that will feature leading beauty experts who will share beauty tips with our readers.
For those of you that are not familiar with the program, Look Good...Feel Better is a non-medical, brand-neutral public service program that teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them manage the appearance side effects of cancer treatment. Look Good…Feel Better group programs are open to all women with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other forms of treatment. In the United States alone, 700,000 women have participated in the program, which now offers 14,500 group workshops nationwide in more than 2,500 locations.
Along with our new blog page, we have also completed a total redesign of our Look Good…Feel Better Web site. On our new site you will be able to locate programs in your area; find out information about our Women’s, Men’s and Teen’s programs; access our 12-Step Beauty Guide, hair and wig tips, and learn about the history of the program. We have also added some new features like our video library, and a partnership with InStyle.com linking to their extraordinary online makeover application. To see more of what our Web site has to offer please visit www.lookgoodfeelbetter.org.
Look Good…Feel Better is dedicated to improving the self-esteem and quality of life of people undergoing treatment for cancer. Through our programs, Web site, and blog we can share information, and inspiration to all those going through cancer treatment.
